2012 Bay Area Heart Walk

EmergiCare, a Houston area freestanding medical care facility, is partnering with the American Heart Association as a sponsor for the 2012 Bay Area Heart Walk.

The 2012 Bay Area Heart walk will take place on October 27, 2012 at the Kemah Boardwalk in Kemah, Texas. The Heart Healthy Festival begins at 7:30 a.m., and the 5K Heart Walk begins at 8:30 a.m. Walk participants can register at www.heartwalk.org. Participants who raise a minimum of $100 will receive a free Heart Walk t-shirt.

More than one million people in 300+ cities across the United States participate in the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk. Heart Walk funds bring the latest medical research directly to doctors, assist in getting life-saving information to those who need it, and support pediatric heart and stroke research.

The mission of the American Heart Association is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. In 1999, the AHA established a goal to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent while reducing deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke by 20 percent by 2010.
